September has seen a wealth of great album releases: Matthew Sweet came out with Modern Art, St. Vincent released Strange Mercy, Wilco churned out The Whole Love, and Primus (who will be at the Tower on Saturday 10/1) produced Green Naugahyde. A few songs from these albums and singles, far more than just 10, are particularly noteworthy.  That’s not to say that the rest aren’t good, and that there isn’t room for additions or subtractions…
